Brand Feature: Estarli

Estarli was established in 2020 during the pandemic by brothers Alex and Oliver Francis. Its name derived from a play on James Starley’s name, a British inventor widely regarded as father of the bike industry.

With Alex’s background in software engineering, and Oliver’s background in commercial advertising, they got stuck in with the e-bike industry to grow their passion project into the brand it is today, boasting 20+ workers and an HQ and assembly plant in Hertfordshire.

Currently featuring 5 models: e20.7, e20.8, e28.8, and eCargo Longtail, the brand is receiving fantastic reviews across the board, and getting more and more people into the world of e-bikes.

Why Bike Shed loves Estarli

Aside from their bike’s ease of assembly right out the box for our workshops, we love Estarli for a few key reasons. Firstly the Francis brothers have kept Estarli commendably transparent in regards to how their bikes are made. Their assembly plant is open to visitors (by appointment) in order to get a detailed view of their assembly line, Which brings us to the second reason; The assembly line consists of a number of stations with each assembler handling an Estarli from bare frame to complete bike, ensuring the quality and satisfaction of a full build built into each bike. All of this is made just that bit nicer by the fact that everything is done right on our doorstep, up in Hertfordshire.

Reasons to love Estarli

Estarli’s customer experience has resulted in their fantastic 4.7 star trustpilot score, definitely not something to scoff at. With the bikes themselves being easy on the eyes yet also wonderfully simple, they don’t overwhelm onlookers with functionless design features. Estarli have made a point to keep the bikes practical and user-forward in their design with some stellar customer service to back it up. Each bike comes with an impressive 2 year guarantee including the samsung based battery (something that has been thoroughly tested by trading authorities, passing with flying colours) so you can rest easy knowing that they have complete faith in their system.

If you do end up purchasing and then falling in love with one of their models, you can rest assured that they’ll be sticking around, as Estarli claims to take a more ‘iterative’ approach to their product line-up, choosing to develop current models over introducing new ones.

Estarli’s range also covers a great deal of uses, just take a look at the eCargo! Their E-hauler isn’t just terrific value for money, it can also go toe-to-toe with the other cargo bike ‘greats’.

Check out our range in store or online and be sure to come and meet the Estarli team at The Bike Shed Bike Show on Saturday March 23rd to test their range for yourself!
