The Smuggler Cycle Sportive
13th April 2015
The Bike Shed is proud to announce that it's hugely popular Smuggler Sportive is returning for its second installment, and promises to be even better than before.
Starting and finishing from The Bike Shed, Barnstaple Square: ‘The Smuggler’ explores some of North Devon’s most epic roads and historic routes, many of which were exploited by smugglers of old – such as the breathtaking Lee Bay toll road that skirts high above the jagged coastline.
As an added bonus and to help keep those legs spinning all riders will receive a FREE BREAKFAST at Ride HQ before setting off!
Riders will be treated to jaw dropping vistas, challenging climbs, epic descents and quiet roads – and of course the finest North Devon food and hospitality will be dished out to fill your bellies and fuel your engines.
The 80 mile route takes in some truly great climbs, with over 6000ft of climbing it’s a challenging ride but not designed to break riders, the way explores some of Exmoor’s hidden gems and we’d like you to enjoy the ride, rather than be on the edge of the rev counter.
For detailed route information, please visit the Smuggler Ride Overview.
Bike Shed wants to deliver a fun day in the saddle for all riders, help you explore some truly amazing sections of North Devon's roads, before sending you home with a smile.
We hope you’ll join us in Barnstaple on June 7th.
