A Hand Built Dream

Wilier Ramato Superleggera - Copper - 55cm

This Wilier Ramato is unlike any other that you're likely to come across. It wasn't just thrown together from the other side of the room in the hope it would look alright. It wasn't built in the dark. Nor was it specced & built in a factory in the thousands to be jobbed out cheap.

The way this bike was lovingly nurtured from frameset into the rideable art it is today is a story of one man and his love for retro design and modern innovation. That man is Gregory Rorke; the gentle guru you'll find roaming Bike Shed Exeter's shop floor, or perfectly aligning bike and rider in our Body-Geometry Fit room.

This piece of art was sparked into life when Greg first laid eyes on the Ramato frameset and his imagination ran wild.

Below, we've listed out the entire spec list that he has personally decided upon himself.

Frameset: The Wilier Ramato Superleggera, Columbus SL steel tubing, copper in colour with a chrome rear triangle and chrome lugs adorning the fork and headtube.

Described by Wilier as THE PAST FUTURE

A tribute to a product that has made Wilier famous for the last half century. This is what this new collection of frames constructed and finished by the hands of skilled craftsmen represents. A product that nods to the past, but in completely new and renovated fine finishes, like the iconic copper color, used in the 40s and later taken up by the second and third generations of the Wilier family. Undisputed Made in Italy charm which underlines once again the love of this brand for its country, just as back in the 40s it demonstrated its patriotism like so: W l’Italia LIbera E Redenta. (Meaning: Long live Italy, free and redeemed).
