Bike Fitting Services
The Bike Shed have teamed up with Specialized and Trek to bring BG Fit and Trek Fit Services to you. We currently have 5 members of staff trained and are carrying out more and more fits all the time.
At Exeter our qualified specialists are Bill, Greg, Steve, Mike and Adam and at Barnstaple we have Martin. Fits Cost £120 for two hours. Shorter fits need to be discussed with the specialist making the booking.
Our Trained Bike Fit Specialists
- Are highly trained in methodology of assessment and bicycle fit.
- Uniquely qualified to conduct high level bike fits on your existing bike, or a new purchase.
- Can recommend products that allow the bicycle to adjust to unique challenges in flexibility and comfort.
- Are qualified to make adjustments to a fit to alleviate pain and discomfort sometimes associated with riding a bicycle.
- Are trained in muscle and skeletal anatomy related to the motion of cycling, common aches and pains associated with cycling, and the corrections necessary to address these issues.
- Have the ability to assess pedal stroke and install BG footbeds and varus/valgus wedges to properly align the foot/knee/hip for maximum efficiency and comfort.
- Can help people ride longer, faster, happier, and healthier so they gain the most from their cycling activities.
Our Bike Fitting Experiance

- Utilising our combined skills and training we have eliminated cycle related injuries and complaints for many of our clients
- We have fitted over 100 individual riders in the Exeter shop alone.
Our bike fits involves a number of stages to obtain the best fit for the individual rider concerned.
Our fit specialists put their skills to practice with both on and off the bike assesments. This enables us to determine the most suitable riding position matching your own physicality to your specific machine. Our trained specialists will be looking to help you to find the most neutral riding position. Please remember that comfort always rules. We cannot turn you into Lance Armstrong as he has a different physical make up than most other riders.
