Born in 1980 - Our brief history, just in case you are interested!

MRS Motor Spares was the start of cycling retailing for us, which was established in 1980. Although predominately a Motor Spares business, we also catered for the cyclist. The Bike Shed was born out of MRS Motor Spares in 1994, which trade briefly as MRS Cycles in Crediton. After over a year of trading the shop became ‘The Bike Shed'.

The purchase of Freewheel in Exeter marked the birth of The Bike Shed Exeter in 1998. Originally we were located in the High Street and the move to our current Fore Street premises in 1999 marked the birth of ‘The Bike Shed' as it is now named.

Barnstaple was an addition just before our Exeter premises and named from the beginning as ‘The Bike Shed'. This particular store still has our longest serving member of staff as part of the team.
